Boot inspection of Wehrmacht recruits
A boot inspection in front of the barracks at a military base; the cleanliness of one recruit’s boots is evidently being criticized. This photo does not show Gruber, but rather another of my relatives in fatigue uniform, and likely dates from the summer of 1941. Also present are two men in the uniforms of a Nazi organization, possibly the SA.
